If you enjoy eating cold tuna sandwiches for lunch, you will really enjoy this baked tuna melt sandwich recipe. When I make this recipe, I really load on the shredded cheddar cheese as we love a lot of cheese on them. You can make these in your conventional oven or in your toaster oven. We love making these!
Baked Tuna Melt Sandwiches Recipe
1 can tuna, drained
1/3 cup reduced-fat mayonnaise
1/8 cup onion, finely chopped
3 hard boiled eggs, chopped
1/2 cup sour cream
Cheddar Cheese, shredded (about 1/2 of a bag)
2 hamburger buns
In a medium sized bowl, combine all of the above ingredients together, except for the cheddar cheese until well blended. Split the 2 hamburger buns so that you have 4 halves. Spread the tuna mixture evenly on the bun halves and sprinkle the cheddar cheese on top. Place them on a baking sheet and bake in a 350 degree oven or toaster oven until they are bubbly and hot, approximately 10 minutes.
