It's hard to believe but Father's Day is just a few short days away and I didn't even get my husband a gift yet. Shame on me! With that said, I have been thinking about all of the gifts I need to get this summer season and I really need to get cracking on that.
I decided to make it easy on myself and want to go out and get a few wines and wine related gifts for some upcoming Birthday parties and Wedding Anniversary parties that I will be attending the next few months. In my opinion, wine always makes a great gift!
With Father's Day just around the corner, I know my husband and my father would both enjoy a great tasting Chardonnay, so I think I will order each of them a nice bottle of that and have it shipped directly to their front door.
In early July, I will be attending my best friend's 25th Wedding Anniversary and both Renee and Chris love a fine Chianti. I remember when they got married 25 years ago that they had that type of wine at their wedding reception. I think a bottle or two of Chianti would make a very good anniversary gift for them this year. Do you like drinking Chianti?
Then in late July I will be attending my friend Carissa's 35th Birthday party and I know for a fact that she loves a good Madiera. I have personally never tried a Madiera wine before so if I get her a bottle of that, I can have a taste test too! I think I will also get her a set of wine glasses to go along with her new bottle of wine too.
In early August my husband and I will be taking a mini vacation trip to celebrate our big 25th Wedding Anniversary and since I will be wine shopping, I my as well pick up a bottle of Chablis to take along with us on our trip. We will be staying 2 nights and 3 days in a lovely romantic Bed & Breakfast Inn and are really looking forward to having some time alone.
Since I am in the mood to do some wine shopping today, I thought I would ask all of my blog readers for some wine suggestions. What type of wine do you enjoy drinking? Are you more of a white wine or red wine drinker?
