When it comes to a dessert style cake, hands down...this is one of my favorite cakes to make. It's fruity, moist and absolutely delicious! I got this recipe several years ago from an elderly neighbor friend of mine who was well known for making and baking delicious cakes!
Homemade Cherry Pineapple Cake Recipe
20 oz. can cherry pie filling
20 oz. can crushed pineapple
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
2 sticks butter, melted
1 cup coconut flakes
1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix together the cherry pie filling and the cruched pineapples and pour into the bottom of a 9" by 13" baking dish. Sprinkle the box of yellow cake mix on top and then pour the melted butter on top of the cake mix. Sprinkle the coconut flakes and chopped pecans on top. Place baking dish into a preheated oven and bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until the center of the cake is done. Enjoy!
