Today I am sharing a cookie recipe with all of you that I received from my great aunt. She used to make these Croatian Bowknots Cookies for us all of the time when we were little kids and they are really easy to prepare!
Croatian Bowknots Cookies Recipe
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon butter, melted
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cold milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
confectioner's sugar
In a large mixing bowl mix together the large eggs with the granulated sugar. Stir in the melted butter and the salt. Stir in the all-purpose flour and milk until all ingredients are well-combined. Roll the dough out thin onto a floured dough board. Cut out in your desired shapes.
Deep fry the cookies in hot oil until done. Remove and place them onto paper towels to drain away the grease. Sprinkle the tops of the cookies while they are still warm with confectioner's sugar.
